| The Storyville Stompers -- composed of Ron Schoyer on
keyboard, Rick Nicholson on drums, Butch Antal on trumpet, Dick
Beckett on clarinet, and Kevin Hennessey on guitar -- will play
at the Third Annual Fayette Festival of the Arts. Shroyer is Dean of the Swinney Conservatory of Music at Central
Methodist University.
According to the Moberly Arts website, "The Storyville Stompers started in the late 1960's when Butch Antal was still in high school. His interest in classic jazz took hold from days playing in the Gaslight District in St. Louis. He was known to duck out of his performances during breaks with a rock band and go listen to some of the old jazz masters across the street. Over the years, the group has been developing repertoire and personnel to best give the right rendition of Classic Jazz." |
